Myofunctional Therapy is an exercise-based treatment that is used to correct disorders associated with tongue placement, swallowing, eating, chewing, speaking, and breathing. By reeducating and repatterning the oral and facial muscles, and restoring proper nasal breathing, we can achieve optimal health via the most vital functions of the human body.
As a practicing dental hygienist of 22 years, I've had the priviledge of serving and educating people of all ages and backgrounds, to create healthier mouths. It was through that love for oral health that I witnessed it's direct relationship to overall systemic health. Physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing begins with proper eating, breathing, swallowing, and chewing. With post-grad certification from the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, I began a new career as a myofunctional therapist focusing on establishing proper form and function of the masticatory and olfactory systems. A high level of wellness can be achieved by focusing on disease prevention.
Every day I rejoice in the the opportunity to meet new people, learn of their life path and goals, and help to make health a part of that journey. That is what truly makes me smile!
